Funding Approval for Project “InteRAGt – Interactive Patient Record”

We are pleased to announce substantial funding from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. As part of the BayVFP LifeScience Medical Technology collaborative research program, our project “InteRAGt – Interactive Patient Record” has been selected for funding.

Project Partners and Objectives

In collaboration with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Clinic, we are developing a forward-looking system to optimize medical analysis and search processes. The research team is led by Assistant Professor of Radiology, Dr. Lisa Adams, and Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Keno Bressem (AI AH Lab).

Innovation through AI-supported Technology

The core of the project is the development of a highly secure Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system with the following focuses:

  • Use of controllable German-language Large Language Models
  • Enabling interactive search and analysis processes
  • Integration of natural language information retrieval
  • Special focus on data protection and security technologies

Added Value for Medical Care

The implementation of the system promises several benefits:

1. More efficient diagnosis

2. More precise treatment approaches

3. Optimized data processing

4. Improved patient care

Knowledge Transfer between Industry and Research

The project, managed by the project sponsor Bayern Innovativ, promotes knowledge exchange between industry and research. Through this collaboration, the innovation potential in the field of AI-supported medical technology is fully exploited.

The funding underscores the importance of innovative technology solutions in healthcare and sustainably strengthens Bavaria’s position as a medical technology hub.
