Sustainability reporting for customers

As of 3 September 2026

Every year you receive a report on the energy use and emissions caused by your use of basebox. For your own reporting, for example under the CSRD or for a municipal climate report.

What the report contains

• Total energy and CO₂. Total consumption and the resulting emissions, calculated from the actual number of your requests.
• Breakdown by model and service. Text generation, image generation, transcription and web search separately, with the number of requests and their share of consumption.
• Data centre figures. PUE, share of renewable energy, certifications, location and operator.
• Development over time. From the second reporting period, a comparison with the previous year.
• Measures. Implemented and planned improvements to infrastructure and platform.

How we calculate

Energy use of the request × PUE of the data centre × emission factor of the electricity mix. Verified green electricity is reflected in the emission factor.

Limits

Most model providers do not publish consumption data, so the values are mostly estimates. Emissions from training the models are not included. Services without published PUE or energy data have no figure. Consumption per request varies considerably. From November 2026 we will replace estimates with measured values from our own inference infrastructure.

Timing

The report is published annually, first after the first full contract year, and delivered electronically. Questions to support@basebox.ai.
