Senior Backend Developer (Rust)

basebox is the AI platform for healthcare and the public sector. A small team at Lake Ammersee and remote; the core of the platform is written in Rust.

Your tasks

You develop the core of the platform in Rust: access and permissions, apps, the audit log and the interface through which customers connect their own scripts and apps.
You build connectors to our customers’ systems, such as document management, council information systems and clinical systems via FHIR.
You make sure basebox runs on the server in the hospital exactly as it does in our cloud: containers, Kubernetes, updates without downtime.
You write code that stands up to security reviews. Tests, reviews and evidence for ISO 27001 and the Cyber Resilience Act are part of the job.
You contribute to research projects with hospitals, such as OnkoBot with TUM Klinikum.

What you bring

Several years of backend development experience, a good part of it in Rust.
Experience with databases, APIs and login via OIDC or SAML.
Confident with containers and Kubernetes.
Care for security and data protection: you know why patient data does not leave the hospital.
Fluent German or English.
Experience with AI models or in healthcare helps, but is not required.
